Gorgeous Scandinavian teak queen-size modular headboard w/ lighted bookshelf storage and nightstands, made in Denmark, circa 1970s. Features built in lighted center bookcase / shelf with two hidden reading lights on each side, eliminating the need for side lamps. The built-in shelf is perfect for holding books and collectibles, or anything else you might want at arm’s reach, measuring 9 1/2in deep. The headboard itself is flanked by a pair of built-in nightstands each with upper shelf and center storage compartment with flip down cabinet door opening to reveal a hidden storage area, and providing a table surface on each side of the bed when open, above additional storage at the base. The nightstands are easily attached for a seamless profile.
The taller stature of the headboard allows for clear visibility of the stunning design, along with bookshelf cut-outs for additional storage and display areas. Another special feature to this particular bed is the hidden storage compartments easily accessible with a flip of the drop-down cabinet doors (pictured). The taller headboard is prominently visible and not covered up by a mattress and/or pillows (a common complaint for modern day use). Unique to most Danish modern beds of this era.
The highly-grained teak book matched veneers complement the minimalist design. Its sleek mid-century style combined with the functionality of ample storage, make this the perfect piece for your master bedroom or guest room. Two concealed bulbs illuminate the central bookcase headboad. There is a “BRDR LOVSCHALL” Denmark label by the lighting unit. Max 25 Watts.
