Description
An outstanding set of eight teak dining chairs designed by Niels Koefoed for Koefoeds Hornslet, model “Lis” made in Denmark, circa 1960s. This stunning set of eight ladder back teak chairs features two arm chairs and six side chairs in original upholstered black faux leather seats. The arm chairs are beautifully proportioned and feature softly curved and carved arms that float gracefully down the side of the seat and seamlessly surround and terminate and at the side rail. The chair backs feature a gently carved ladder back with a subtle bow-tie shape. The teak has mellowed into a warm dark patina. A tall and beautifully angled frame maintains comfort while showcasing a simple elegant form. The chairs are accentuated with a lovely warm wood grain and exceptional craftsmanship. This rare set of highly sought after chairs will be a wonderful addition to any modern home. Manufacturers stamp on the underside of the rail (“Furniture Maker, DANISH”; “Made in Denmark by Koefoed”).
