A rare, stunning, padded, teak Junior chair, part of the “Scandia” series, designed by Hans Brattrud for Hove Mobler, Norway, circa 1957. One of the most unique designs to come from the Mid Century Scandinavian era in 1957 which is seldom available to the public. A beautiful example of fine Scandinavian Modern craftsmanship features modern styling with a distinct, beautiful, design. Perfected in bent teak, curved, slats that form the back and seat of the chair with the seat and back padded in black leatherette. The curved back provides lumbar support making these as comfortable as they are beautiful. The chairs sit on a chrome base that forms a hairpin frame of bent metal. The lines and attention to detail are exquisite. Classic mid-century modern styling with sturdy, solid construction. The “Scandia” stackable chair received the Award for Design Council and was awarded a gold medal at the International arts and crafts fair in Munich. This side/ desk padded chair is the rare “Junior” version which showcases a flawless desirable design offering maximum comfort with the padded seat and back.
