A remarkable, biomorphic, spiral lounge chair. Features a rounded angled back, and sloping arms, extend from the back in a curved rainbow fashion providing comfort and support. The cantilever seat is widely comfortable. This is expertly upholstered in its original soft Cyan polyester fabric. Manufacturer’s label beneath the chair (made in Canada). Condition Report: Very sturdy, with heavy metal welded frame. Original upholstery no tears in fabric. Very minor wear, structurally sound of very best quality, materials and workmanship.

Pierre Paulin studied at the Ecole Camondo in Paris in the early fifties where he began designing furniture for Thonet. In 1958, he became the designer for Artifort where he created a series of sculptural chairs with an inner structure of steel tubing, covered in foam and fabric. In 1968, Paulin collaborated with Le Mobilier.
