A remarkable set of 6 vintage French Provincial Louis XV upholstered dining room chairs made by Century Furniture of Hickory NC. The set of four side chairs and two arm chairs feature cabriole legs, upholstered back and seats and a lightly distressed solid maple wood frame, with a glazed and washed finish. Manufactured by Century Furniture in late-20th century. A remarkable set of French Provincial Louis XV style chairs, crafted with elegance and charm. These fully upholstered chairs feature a refined design with gorgeous clean angular lines. Made of maple hardwood, the frame is fully carved and embellished with floral and shell motifs. The original golden maple finish is beautifully distressed with a cream wash accenting the carvings. The carved seat back is adorned with acanthus leaves at the shoulder and a floral and shell motif at the crest, the back is slightly angled for increased comfort. The down filled beautiful upholstered seats are extremely comfortable and are adorned by a fully carved apron featuring a shell and floral motif. The arm chairs are flanked on either side by open curling arm supports raised over the curved apron. The cabriole legs terminate into a delicate foot. Manufactures (Century Chair Company Hickory, N. C.) label on the underside of the chair. This set of vintage Century Furniture chairs are beautifully built with strong and solid joinery. They are beautiful chairs that are both comfortable and supportive. They are a marvelous quality for anyone passionate about the French form. They will bring extraordinary presence to any interior.
Condition Report: In very good vintage condition, gently used with minor wear. All joints sturdy and tight. Original beautiful cotton upholstery light fraying at arm rests, no tears, in good condition.
