Mid Century Abstract Expressionist Oil on Board Signed Lower Right “Griffin”. The painting is in the style of 1950’s Willem de Kooning, bold and Abstract Expressionist brush strokes, heavy black lines and an urgency that is synonymous with de Kooning’s work. The painting is executed in equal color palates, Orange, Red, Black and Muted Yellow and is framed in a period 1960’s style frame.

The painting is an expressionistic technique on a muted background with bold colors, while the figure is done in black giving the figure a depth. This style and technique is difficult to achieve which showcases the quality of the painting.  This painting will add to style to any mid-century Design house or art collection.
