Beautiful Mid-Century Modern expandable Drexel Heritage Meridian dining table designed by James Bouffard for Drexel’s Meridian collection circa 1960’s. Features richly grained, butternut wood, clean lines characteristic of classic Danish design. Raised over four solid walnut tapered legs, creating a clean and elegant profile. This remarkable dining table comes with two extension leaves to accommodate extra seating, transforming seating capacity from four to six or eight. With two leaves inserted, this table expands to 98 1/4″ long! Well-crafted, with easy sliding metal rails, fully extended, it becomes a large conference table and without leaves the table is a perfect size for small areas, measuring 62 1/4″ wide characteristically sleek and functional and exudes an aesthetic beauty as well making it perfect for the modern interior. Makers stamp beneath the table (Meridian by Drexel). Perfect table for a kitchen or dining room, and due to size flexibility, will function wonderfully in a small or large space.
Condition Report: Table has been re-oiled and remains in very fine original condition. Base is stable and sturdy; gorgeous wood shows light wear indicators. Extension hardware operates smoothly.
