A rare and extraordinary early 201 armless, wingback chair designed by Elias Svedberg, circa 1947 for department store Nordiska Konipaniet, Sweden, and manufactured and distributed by Knoll Associates. Rare and imported from Sweden by Knoll International. The 201 armless chair was made 1947-1951 in Sweden. Unique and rich in personality, this accent chair features original upholstery in a stripe pattern of various shades of browns, tan and grey, with beautiful button tufted detailing on the elegantly curved wing back. Cleverly upholstered, the stripe pattern seems to swirl from the back to the front, creating a striking side profile! Entire chair is trimmed with piping and is supported on flaring birch legs. Makers Label (Knoll Associates, Inc. Madison Avenue New York} present on leg. Comfortable and sturdy, this striking accent chair will add a touch of whimsy and character to any room, particularly where space is limited.
