Description
A mid-century Danish contemporary style table with incredible presence and form. Most attractive designed by Paul McCobb, the Irwin Collection. Manufactured by the Calvin Furniture Company, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Original clean surface throughout, there is a rich and glowing patina that makes the table visually attractive with a beautiful teak surface. The rectangular top with telescopic extending action and now lacking the leaf insertions, is raised over eight turned tapering legs joined by stretcher rails, bearing the manufacturer’s label. This elegant dining table is in excellent original condition. The Calvin Furniture Company specialized in making Scandinavian style furniture. Fairly rare line of McCobb designed furniture in 1957 when McCobb designed for Perimeter Group in 1957, Metallic tag. It is a solid table that is intended to be actively used and enjoyed without concern, while presenting a powerful statement in whatever setting it becomes a part of.
