Beautiful bent wood high-back “Siesta” Westnofa leather, lounge chair. Designed by Ingmar Relling (1920-2002) in 1965 for Westnofa, Norway. Features a beautiful bentwood frame in a rosewood finish. The sturdy canvas backing laces into the bentwood frame. It retains its original tan colored leather cushions, with original label “Westnofa Furniture” attached to underside, comes with the added headrest. The sling seat is supported by a contoured base that acts to distribute the tension, aiding in comfort. One of the more comfortable chairs in this style. This chair could also be considered a sling chair as the cushion is held up by the canvas that is held up by the wood. Very beautiful and minimalist design. This is one of the more iconic Mid-century modern pieces. A must-have for the MCM furniture collector. Chair is true to its name as Siesta means afternoon nap in Spanish and this would be the perfectly place to do so.
