Absolutely beautiful and functional Mid-Century Modern “flip top” teak bar cabinet/ cart by Torbjorn Afdal for Mellemstrands Mobelfabrik / Bruksbo of Norway, circa 1960s. Makers Stamp (Bruksbo A-S mobelfabriken Solid gjovik made in Norway} on the inside drawer.. Featuring richly grained teak, with a fully finished back and teak interior. The finished back side makes this cart ideal for placement in an open floor plan, making it a great focal point. The beautiful black laminate top and brass hardware creates a stunning contrast. Elegant, yet functional, the black laminate bar top slides and flips opens for an extended surface on both sides when entertaining, doubling the serving space and transforming the cabinet into a “stand up” service bar. The two cabinet doors, complete with one original key, open and effortlessly lock into place to secure the bar top during use. Three drawers, two felt-lined and one beautifully dovetailed, offer ample storage for bar accessories and bottles. Brass rails on the inside of the two doors provide plenty of space for glasses. Mounted on castor wheels for easy maneuverability when entertaining and accommodating guests. When not in use, this unique cart closes to function as an attractive side piece to display books, décor.
