Description

This absolute jewel remains in nearly pristine condition. The Brasilia line is a collection that was first presented at the world’s fair in Seattle in 1962, as a tribute to the design of Brazilian famed architect Oscar Niemeyer. One of the most celebrated and highly collectible lines on the American atomic era of design. The cabinet’s signature arches and pulls are molded after buildings design by Niemeyer for Brazil’s capital city, widely recognized as the best mid-century era design series produced by Broyhill. Coveted for iconic raised walnut designs that extend beyond the face of the doors, there are few other produced pieces of furniture as sculptural in nature. Unique walnut fronts that extend a few inches out are critical to the design element and represented a great challenge. This unit features three spacious drawers one features a removable wood tray for holding silverware in the center and two cabinets on the left and right sides. Each cabinet holds fixed interior shelves within. The original brass colored signature Brasília hardware is in fantastic shape with no notable oxidization. This buffet is often used as a credenza. There is also a matching walnut and brass Brasilia china cabinet available that can be added on top of this buffet if so desired. Drawer are exceptionally clean. One of the most beloved and collected lines of American furniture the atomic age. It is easy to see why so many fall in love with Brasília. An exceedingly fine hutch, this piece has been very well taken care of over the years. This listing is for both the vintage buffet as well the china hutch, price is for both buffet and the hutch.
