A vintage mid-century modern walnut tallboy, highboy, chest of drawers attributed to Jack Cartwright for Founders Furniture Company. A stunning walnut highboy dresser with chrome accents. Features a double set of upper cabinet doors over a set of eight dovetail drawers. This magnificent mid century cabinets’ upper section features four doors with chrome finger pulls that open to reveal a divided interior with adjustable shelves creating eight interior sections finished in walnut. The lower cabinet features eight dovetailed walnut drawers with chrome finger pulls. Makers Label (Founders) stamped inside the drawer. This beautiful cabinet is faced in a spectacular book matched cathedral walnut veneer with chrome banding at the top and base with a thin center chrome banding defining the right and left cabinets. The carefully chosen American walnut veneers complement the refined case. An exceedingly fine tallboy dresser, with striking embellishments offers ample storage in a modest footprint. The chrome finger pulls, contrast beautifully against the warm walnut body, this piece has been very well taken care of over the years. This is an investment piece, with great style for a bedroom or living room. Jack Cartwright paid attention to every detail with the walnut veneer matching across the front drawers and chrome drawer pulls. This piece is truly a show stopper and wonderfully proportioned.
Condition Report: Original finish, with minor wear and light use indicators, overall nice surface condition. Drawers slide open smoothly; solid, strong and sturdy, the base is tight level and supportive, interior is clean. Scuffs to the chrome, original hardware.
