A pair of American Victorian oak hall chairs in the Gothic revival style.
Description: The pierced tracery back with flower head carved medallions, arched crestings and foliate scroll finials , the solid seat above a molded and pieced scroll apron with quatrefoil and flower heads, on turned legs.
Date: 19th century
Measurements: 55″ tall to back of chair x 18″ deep x 20″ wide x 17″ tall to seat
Extra Notes: These elegant oak chairs would have been very fashionable at the time of manufacture in their decorative Gothic style. These solid seat chairs were generally intended for the entrance hall and it is likely that the interior architectural plasterwork shared some of the decorative details in their original setting.
