Description
A fine quality, decorative, elegant revival of a French neo-classical gilt style mirror. An exceptionally fine mirror featuring gilt wood and gesso in George III style. The beveled circular plate in a beaded frame is adorned on top with a festooned asymmetrical urn crest and swagged apron. The gold drapery of this simple neoclassical French mirror illustrates the restrained elegance of late 18th century European mirrors. This appears to be a revival of a neo-classical design of the late 18th century. Wear to top of the mirror, look closely at photos. A very decorative mirror, fabulous for above a commode or vanity, also for entry hallway
