Beautiful Mid-Century Modern Bassett credenza, dresser from the “Mayan” Collection circa 1960’s. Featuring a beautifully grained walnut rectangle top above a whopping 9 drawers. Three deep spacious drawers reside on the left and right sides. Each adorned with detailed solid wood block carved tiki handles, in the Mayan like style, creating a striking contrast to the walnut wood. The Polynesian inspired design reflects exotic cultures. Manufacturer’s stamp (Bassett furniture) on interior of drawer. The center cabinet doors, also adorned with wood block carved tiki handles, open to reveal a column of three more drawers. The original signature Bassett Mayan” Collection hardware handles are in fantastic shape. Each easy gliding dovetail drawer has beautiful stunning walnut grains, overall good original vintage condition, with exceptional craftsmanship. A recessed base of tapered legs and apron provide stable support while conveying an airy “floating” effect.
