Fabulous Mid-Century Modern dresser bachelor chest designed by Kipp Stewart and Stewart MacDougall for Drexel’s Declaration Collection, circa 1960s. Featuring a solid, beautifully grained walnut wood case and frame housing three dovetailed drawers, each is adorned with original brass pulls with walnut inlay, creating a striking contrast to the walnut wood. Maker Stamp (by Drexel) on the inside of the top drawer. A recessed base of round tapered legs and apron provide stable support while conveying an airy “floating” effect. Additional Maker Stamp (Declaration by Drexel} on the back. Clean lines and timeless style, this showstopper will be an enhancing addition to any interior and also blend beautifully with many décor styles. Ideal piece for a bedroom, living room, entry, dining room or office. Full matching set available (sold separately).
Condition Report: Construction is strong and sturdy. Drawers and doors open effortlessly and smoothly; hardware intact, original finish, minor scuffs, wear to back upper corner shown in photos. The wood grain is naturally highlighted in a walnut pattern throughout, with a rich walnut tone.
