Stunning rare set of eight Iconic “Tucroma” dining armchairs, designed by Guido Faleschini for i4 Mariani, Italy 1970’s. This rare set is difficult to find in a set of eight. Each chair is beautifully proportioned and features Guido Faleschini signature cantilever continuous, tubular, chrome plated steel. Sculptural frame designed to provide a sense of continuity and comfort. The plush thick tufted cushions are upholstered in a soft supple suede and are elegantly suspended by two saddle large straps, visible on the back offering both structural strength and a sense of visual lightness. The result is a striking symmetry between the flexible leather and sleek metal embodying modern Italian style. Label on chair (made in Italy). An identifying characteristic of the Tucroma series is the use of thick leather straps that connect and support the back and seat cushions within the frame. 

Condition Report: Original upholstery; light markings will still be evident upon close inspection as one would expect with any 50+ year old piece of furniture. Structurally sound and very comfortable seating. Chrome with some light wear. Construction is sturdy and stable; Frames are tight and sturdy.

Guido Faleschini, a distinguished architect and designer, was recognized for his talent in merging structure with comfort, having been educated in Milan’s post-war design milieu. He infused a sense of discipline and proportion into every project. In his collaboration with i4 Mariani, Faleschini discovered the ideal partner—an Italian manufacturer celebrated for its exquisite leather craftsmanship and sophisticated modern aesthetic. Together, they created furniture that was both engineered and emotional, industrial yet welcoming.

After earning an Industrial Expert degree in Milano in 1942, he applied for a Superior School of Art degree in Industry in 1952–1953, winning first place at the end of the program. He received his architecture degree from the University “Athenaeum de Lausanne” in 1960. 

From 1970 to 1974, he taught architectonic composition in the university’s Italian section. winning numerous awards in painting contests between 1950 and 1968. He began working as an industrial designer for many furniture companies in the Brianza area of Milan in 1960. a large number of booths at international trade exhibitions. He took part in the PRINT laminating competition and the Mariano Biennal with a variety of quotes. A comprehensive collection of private home furniture from several places in 1950. Office furnishings such as Company ATE in Sesto San Giovanni and Company Sangalli in Monza full furnishings in apparel stores.
