Description
An exceptional Mid-Century Modern serving bar cart by designer Poul Hundevad, for Domus Danica of Denmark, circa 1960s. Beautifully crafted from teak, this cleverly designed piece features a sliding upper shelf and detachable lower shelf that can be used as an extension to expand the upper shelf work and serving surface to 60 inches. The top shelf simply slides to the side to expose two rails allowing for placement of the bottom shelf. Wooden locking mechanisms secure the shelf in place. Both shelves feature a tuned edge “lip” design to prevent items from sliding when in use. Attractive brass and rubber casters allow for easy mobility when accommodating guests and serving beverages, desert or appetizers. A perfect piece to display décor and books when not functioning as a serving cart. Simple, clean design and lines to blend with and compliment many décor genres. Makers label (Made in Denmark Poal Hundevad, Vamdrup) on the underside.
